The Griswold Edition

Designed for the film connoisseur, this may be the most accurate and correct full size scale replica of the Christmas Advent House calendar seen in Christmas Vacation you will find anywhere.  This is the the famously known scene segue calendar shown as the Griswold family counts down the days to their fun, old-fashioned family Christmas.  The traditional advent calendar is lit on December 1st.  A window shutter is opened every day thereafter, revealing a backlit Victorian Christmas Holiday scene, with the front double door opening on December 24th.

The Griswold Edition is the original version, as seen in the film.  Every detail has been precisely documented to construct the most accurate replica.

• All wood construction, with no acrylic or plexi.
• Hand-painted chipboard brick exterior finish.
• Raised architectural quoining at the outer building corners.
• Authentic Victorian curved mansard style roof with perimeter picket guardrail.
• Authentic Victorian curved mansard style lit atrium with correct mylar skylight panels.
• Ground floor, second floor, dormer window frame shutters precisely incorporate the film design cues.
• All exterior finishes are hand-painted and airbrushed to replicate the correct vintage period appearance. Construction retains all unique characteristics and flaws inherent to hand-crafted, natural wood products.

Virtually all components are designed, engineered, and hand-built by me.  Materials have been chosen to stay true, aesthetically, to the Christmas Advent House seen in the film, yet provide durability.  Approximate dimensions are 33"W x 29"H x 14"D.

Due to the amount of detail, and hand-built nature of the Christmas Advent House, production numbers are extremely limited and build reservation requests are considered accordingly.
